I saw my crush too.
11:11 p.m., October 4th
I went to the market this morning, and the Igbo woman we’ve been buying ugu and waterleaf from for over ten years called me “nwanyi.” It brought a wide smile to my face because, gosh, I love some parts of the Igbo culture that I’m familiar with.
The Igbo woman on my street also calls me “Ada,” signifying that I’m a first daughter. Love it!
I love Igbo food, parts of the culture, the language, and how bold and expressive they are. Have you heard Igbo kids talk to their parents? That’s pure art.
I know the Igbo people are often stereotyped as being dishonest, but I remember OJD, a senior colleague who now work as an investigative journalist, putting his life at risk to reveal the truth and promote justice.
I also remember my 100-level roommates. They were three sisters. They are the kindest and softest people I’ve ever met. I miss them so much.
Enough digression. One of my father’s childhood best friends is visiting, and my parents were in a frantic mood trying to make him comfortable in our little abode.
I spoke to my cousin, Asabi. She made Overall best in her just concluded JSS1.
I saw my crush at the masjid today. I saw him yesterday too, and the day before. Whenever I step into the masjid, my eyes find him, and I mostly go, “Where’s my man? Oh, that’s my man. Oh, that’s my baby. Awnnn, see my babyyy.”
Of course, I’m a dreamer girl. And yes, he knows I exist because we’ve exchanged salam a few times, like yesterday.
Do I want anything out of this? Of course not. I don’t have time budgeted for that, but a girl can do girl things abi?
My sister made noodles tonight. They tasted 100% lovely, as always.
I drank garri again tonight. I drank it twice yesterday, and I’m aware that I’ve officially kick-started another garri marathon phase. I’m excited.
Goodnight, let’s see if I can get through half of this YouTube movie I’m currently watching.
No, I’m going to bed.

This feels like a personal journal and I lowkey feel invasive by reading this 😭
But... but... I STILL WANT MORE OF IT!
